Deadline for implementation of the project proposal - until August 26, 2019.

The project proposal envisages a set of investments aimed at improving the public transport system in the town of Dupnitsa, through:

• Improving the connections between integrated urban transport, intercity and rail transport, with a view to implementing intermodal transport;

• development of the route network to more remote residential areas, through the creation of a new line of urban transport, which will provide a direct transport connection between areas not covered by urban transport;

• purchase of new rolling stock for the needs of urban transport, which complies with the European regulations for harmful emissions from engines, in order to improve air quality and increase the accessibility to integrated urban transport;

• improving the accessibility of public transport stops by renovating sidewalks, removing obstacles to orientation and information, lighting and sounding of stops, clear visual marking of lines and timetables, information understandable and appropriate for the visually impaired, or blind;

• introduction of ITS, including automated systems for traffic management and control, for vehicle detection and for localization and provision of priority of vehicles from public urban transport, real-time passenger information systems;

• construction, renovation and reconstruction of a street network along the routes of public transport, incl. marking and placement of road signs, with a view to developing an integrated public transport system; renewal of the transport infrastructure, through renewal and equipment of a service base, with a view to the technical maintenance of the newly purchased buses of the public transport;

The project activities take into account the functioning of the impact zones identified in the IPGVR and are developed on the basis of an integrated territorial approach based on a detailed pre-investment study and financial analysis.
