Project "Integrated urban transport of the town of Dupnitsa" started with the first sod of a new street network, traffic lights and bus stops
Today officially begins the construction and renovation of road infrastructure under the project "Integrated Urban Transport of Dupnitsa", which is implemented with the financial support of the Operational Program "Growing Regions" 2014-2020, co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund .
The beneficiary of the project is the Municipality of Dupnitsa. The total value of the project is BGN 7,042,899.05, as the value of the financial support of the Operational Program “Growing Regions” 2014-2020 is BGN 6,834,999.05.
At the official ceremony "First sod" today was launched the implementation of engineering activities, including the preparation of a detailed design for the repair of existing and construction of a new street network, laying pavements, shafts and new concrete curbs, construction of traffic lights and 13 stops for a new bus line in Dupnitsa, implementation of the construction - installation and repair works envisaged in the project and implementation of author's supervision during the construction. The activity is carried out by DZZD "IGT-DUPNITSA".
The start-up ceremony was attended by Eng. Metodi Chimev, Mayor of Dupnitsa Municipality, Eng. Emil Gushterov, Chairman of the Municipal Council in the city, as well as Deputy Mayors Olga Kitanova, Krassimir Georgiev and Krum Milev, and Borislav Ivanov, a representative of DZZD IGT-DUPNITSA.
According to Krassimir Georgiev, Deputy Mayor of Dupnitsa Municipality, the successful implementation of the project for integrated urban transport in Dupnitsa is proof of the serious work of the municipal administration to solve the city's problems. "The first sod is in a place where there are built and continue to be built housing for our socially disadvantaged citizens. And if so far, unfortunately, they did not have well-organized public transport, then after the completion of construction activities - they will have a great new bus line with modern buses that can easily and quickly reach any point of the city, "added Georgiev .
During the project, an automated traffic management and control system will be implemented, new low-floor vehicles accessible to people with disabilities, a rehabilitated road network and sidewalks will be purchased. The project modernizes transport mobility and reduces air pollution in the city.
The project "Integrated urban transport of the town of Dupnitsa" started in May 2017 and lasts for 21 months.
With the successful implementation of the project, the residents and guests of Dupnitsa will have an urban infrastructure offering better quality traffic and conditions for comfortable transport.
